Wilfried Kunde (born May 8, 1967 in Nordhorn ) is a German experimental psychologist and professor of general psychology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

Wilfried Kunde received his doctorate in 1998 from the University of Würzburg (dissertation: “Location-specific stimulus expectations in visual search”). In 2002 he moved to the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg ; In 2004 he received his habilitation at the University of Würzburg. In 2007 he was appointed professor for research methods and cognitive psychology at the Technical University of Dortmund , and in 2010 he accepted an appointment at the University of Würzburg. He is co-editor of the journal Psychological Research and a member of the Psychology Review Board of the German Research Foundation .

His research deals with the cognitive representation of action plans , performance in dual tasks , unconscious information processing and executive control functions . The phenomenon of reaction-effect compatibility described by him represents a central finding in research on effect-based models of human behavior. He also developed the so-called action-trigger approach to describe unconscious information processing.
