Wilfried Werner

Wilfried Werner (born September 13, 1930 ) is an agricultural scientist and professor emeritus at the University of Bonn .

Live and act

Wilfried Werner attended a degree in agriculture at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . In 1957 he received his doctorate there at the Agricultural Chemical Institute. During his studies in Giessen he became a member of the Corps Starkenburgia and Corps Teutonia Giessen . He began his professional activity in 1957 as a research assistant at the German Agricultural Society (DLG) in Frankfurt am Main. In 1963 he took over the management of the agricultural research station at Kali + Salz AG and from 1974 to 1983 the main research and development department of the fertilizer division. In 1983 he was appointed to the Agricultural Chemistry Institute of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn, where he was its managing director until he left in 1995. From 1990 he was a member of the board and from January 1995 president of the scientific societies for agricultural, forestry, nutritional, veterinary and environmental research eV (umbrella organization for agricultural research / DAF) until his departure in 2000.
