Kerai Mariur

Kerai Mariur (born June 4, 1951 , Ollei , Ngarchelong , Palau ) is a Palauian politician who was Vice President of Palau from 2009-2013.

Life

Mariur was born in Ollei in 1951. He earned a degree in Business Administration and Higher Accounting ( Accounting ) at Cannon's International Business College in Honolulu , United States . In Palau, he was in the House of Delegates (House of Representatives) of the Olbiil Era Kelulau (National Congress) for four legislative terms . Mariur played a key role in the economic and environmental legislation of the Republic of Palau. The Marine Protection Act , the Republic of Palau Copyright Act and the Protected Areas Network Act go on to it . During his time in, he chaired the Standing Committees for Youth & Cultural Affairs , Judiciary and Governmental Affairs (Taxes and Government), Environment and Ecology , and Ways and Means of Financial Matters ( Finance).

Johnson Toribiong selected Mariur as a candidate for vice presidency in the 2008 presidential election. On January 15, 2009, he was installed and also became Minister of Administration and Finance .
