Wilfried Wolter

Wilfried Wolter (born February 26, 1948 in Wittingen ) is a German politician (CDU). He was mayor of Wittingen and a member of the state parliament in Lower Saxony.

Wolter attended elementary school and then completed an agricultural training. He also attended the vocational school in Hildesheim. From 1970 he worked as a self-employed farmer. Wolter joined the CDU in 1980 and from 1983 was chairman of the CDU city association in Wittingen. He was an employee in the rural people's association and in the administrative bodies of the cooperative milk processing. From 1980 to 1989 Wolter was mayor of the town of Lüben and from 1981 councilor of the city of Wittingen, of which he was mayor from 1990 to 1991. In the twelfth electoral term, he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1990 to 1994.
