Wilhelm Brüning
Joseph Maria Leberecht Wilhelm Brüning (born October 3, 1862 in Mariensee near Seeberg, † July 17, 1936 in Aachen ) was a German Catholic historian and archivist .
In 1892 he received his doctorate in Königsberg with a thesis on the history of the Diocese of Warmia in the late Middle Ages.
From 1895 until his retirement in 1928 he worked as the city archivist in Aachen .
In addition to numerous historical articles, Brüning published articles in the Catholic weekly magazine “Allgemeine Rundschau” and the daily newspaper “Der Tag” published by Berlin's Scherl Verlag.
Under the pseudonym Dr. Rhenanus appeared from him in Frankfurt in 1908: The young Görres. A picture of time and life from the Rhineland .
