Wilhelm I of Diepholz († May 12, 1242 ) was a Catholic priest and bishop of Minden .

Life

Wilhelm was born as the son of nobleman Gottschalk III. Born by Diepholz .

Long-standing conflicts with Count Heinrich von Hoya fell during his reign . In the course of this, the count had violent attacks carried out against subjects of the Minden bishopric. For protection, Wilhelm had Neunhaus Castle built near Liebenau in 1242 .

After his death on May 12, 1242, his brother Johann was appointed Bishop of Minden.
