Konrad I. von Rüdenberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Konrad I von Rüdenberg was Bishop of Minden from July 30, 1209 to June 26, 1236 .

His work as a bishop

It is believed that Count Bernhard von Poppenburg founded the monastery in Wennigsen am Deister around 1215, at the same time as the Spiegelburg . Count Bernhard will have made his property in Wennigsen available to the church for the foundation of a monastery. Bishop Konrad I used these funds - just as in Barsinghausen - to set up an Augustinian nunnery .

On November 5, 1222 he assisted the Münster Bishop Dietrich III. von Isenberg at the consecration of the monastery church of the Cistercian monastery Marienfeld .

The Wennigsen monastery is first mentioned in a document from 1224. Count Adolf III. (Schauenburg and Holstein) waived his right to the church property of the Wennigsen monastery in favor of the bishop at the request of Bishop Konrad I.

In 1227 Konrad I von Rüdenberg founded the Cistercian monastery in Levern .
