history

Factory letterheads in 1914 and 1921

In 1881, the four heirs of the Meyr's Neffe company split up and the glassworks in Eleonorenhain and Ernstbrunn (near Christianberg ) fell to Johann and Heinrich Kralik von Meyrswalden. From then on they traded under the name Wilhelm Kralik Sohn , with Johann later leaving. In 1896 Wilhelm Mathias Kralik von Meyrswalden and Gottlob, Heinrich's son, were accepted as owners.

After the death of Heinrich Kralik von Meyrswalden in 1911, his sons Alfons and Siegfried Kralik von Meyrswalden took over the company. The brother Gottlob Kralik von Meyrswalden left the company and took over the glassworks there in Fürstenberg (today part of Eisenhüttenstadt ).

After the end of the Second World War , the company became a Czech state enterprise under the name " Sklárny Český křišťál " ("Czech crystal glass"). In 1993 the name was changed to " Šumavské sklárny " ("Bohemian Forest Glass") and in 1995 the glass factory in Eleonorenhain was finally closed.

A number of important exhibits are now in the Passau Glass Museum .
