Wilhelm Mademann

Wilhelm Mademann (born August 17, 1878 in Nitzlin , † February 21, 1956 in Lage ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Mademann attended the Nitzlin elementary school from 1884 to 1892 and then trained as a wheelwright in Stemnitz from 1893 to 1896. Until 1910 he was a wheelwright journeyman. Between April 1910 and 1916 he was a warehouse keeper in the consumer association in Bielefeld and member of the board of the branch of the clerks' association. 1916–1918 he worked as an administrative clerk at the consumer association in Bielefeld. From 1918 to December 1926 he was the managing director of the Lemgo consumer association. In the years 1927-1934 he worked as managing director of the consumer association in location.

Mademann was married for the first time in 1901 and the second in 1916.

In 1903 he joined the SPD and the union. 1908–1918 he was a city councilor, since 1915 a member of the municipal council in Bielefeld. After moving to Lemgo in 1918, he was also a member of the magistrate there. From January 1928 to 1932 he was a member of the city council in Lage.

In the Reichstag election in 1912 , he ran in the constituency (LP15) Minden 4 (Paderborn-Büren). In the state elections in Lippe in 1919 he was elected to the Lippe state parliament and was president of the state parliament there until 1921.

After the seizure of power by the Nazis, he was arrested. He was arrested again in August 1944.

After the Second World War he was mayor from June 1945 to February 1946 and city director from February 1946 to October 1946. From April 1946 he was a member of the nutrition committee at the general department for nutrition, agriculture and forestry in Münster (Westphalia) and representative of the Lippe state government. From October 1948 to December 1949 and again from December 1950 to December 1951 he was mayor and then city councilor until 1952. He was a partner in the Bielefeld " Free Press ".
