Wilhelm Piec

Wilhelm Piec (born Wilhelm Pietz , born November 2, 1915 in Lipine , † April 4, 1954 in Świętochłowice ) was a Silesian and Polish football player in midfield .

career

Piec played for the Naprzód Lipiny club and its successor TuS Lipine until 1939 . In 1945 and 1946 he was active with Flota Gdynia ( Gdynia ) before ending his active career in 1947 with AKS Chorzów ( Königshütte ). With his club TuS Lipine he played successfully in the Gauliga Oberschlesien and took part in the Tschammerpokal in 1942 and 1943 , although his team was only eliminated in the semifinals in 1942 against the eventual cup winner TSV 1860 Munich .

In the national team of Poland he had a total of six missions, four of them before the Second World War . In these missions he scored a goal. He was nominated for the 1938 World Cup , but did not play a game in France .

His brother Ryszard Piec (formerly Richard Pietz) was also a soccer player.
