Wilhelm Tegethoff (philologist)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wilhelm Tegethoff (born December 2, 1907 , † April 19, 1996 ) was a German pulmonologist and amateur philologist .

In his free time, Wilhelm Tegethoff researched ancient scripts and languages intensively, and made many trips to museums in order to copy written documents down to the last detail, since it seems that quite a few of the texts in literature have been copied incorrectly up to now. Other mistakes were made during the transcription into the Greek alphabet . Both can of course lead to incorrect interpretations.

His interpretations of the texts sometimes seem very daring, but at least the size of his text copies should be valuable.
