Wilhelm von Düring (District Administrator)

Wilhelm von Düring (born March 31, 1836 in Lüneburg , † November 13, 1907 in Hanover ) was a German administrative lawyer.

origin

His parents were the Hanoverian major general Ernst Johann Christian von Düring (* June 6, 1788 - April 7, 1851) and his wife Karoline Frederike von Oeynhausen (* October 6, 1797; † May 23, 1870). His uncle Georg Anton Dietrich von Düring (* October 8, 1780, † March 30, 1872) became the Hanoverian lieutenant general.

Life

He studied law in Heidelberg , where he was a member of the Corps Vandalia , and in Göttingen . In 1859 he became an auditor, in 1864 a court assessor in Celle, and later in Geestemünde. From 1866 he was a government assessor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the High Presidium in Hanover. In 1868 he became a laborer in the Ministry for Lauenburg in Berlin. In 1870/71 he took part in the war against France as a war volunteer and finally as a lieutenant in the Guard Cuirassier Regiment. In 1872 he became a government assessor in Potsdam. In 1873 he resigned from the civil service, rejoined the government in 1878 and was transferred to Posen. Düring became a member of the government in 1880, and in 1881 he was made official in Hann. Münden, 1884 district administrator in the Münden district . In 1895 he received the title of a secret councilor. In 1899 he was allowed to leave. He last lived as a manor owner on Eggerkamp and Gehren.

family

On September 6, 1871 he married Johanna Karolina Klara von Gruner (* August 19, 1848 - January 21, 1924), the daughter of the politician Justus von Gruner . The couple had a son and two daughters:

  • Klara Karoline Hermine Bertha (born May 31, 1875)
  • George (February 1, 1877 - February 6, 1952) ⚭ 1900 Elisabeth von der Becke (May 19, 1882 - October 12, 1957)
