Willer Crowell

Willer Crowell († 1401 ) was abbot of the Oldenstadt monastery and head of the Lüneburg law firm .

Life

Crowell was attested since 1383 as head of the Lüneburg law firm. In this role he played a major role in drawing up the Lüneburg Sate's contracts . From 1385 to 1400 Crowell was a representative of the city of Lüneburg at the Hanseatic Days and also undertook further diplomatic trips on behalf of the City Council of Lüneburg, u. a. 1389 to Rome . Because of his services to the common good of Lüneburg, Crowell was released from all city duties in 1390. In 1398 Crowell ended his activity as head of the Lüneburg law firm. When he died in 1401 he was abbot of the Oldenstadt monastery .
