Willi Krämer (journalist)

Willi Krämer (born December 2, 1926 - † July 15, 2015 ) was a German sports journalist. For many years, Krämer was the sports director of the Second German Television (ZDF).

Life

Krämer, former German champion in the 100 meter backstroke, was a reporter for the Bonner General-Anzeiger from 1957 to 1959 . He then worked as a sports advisor in the Federal Press Office until 1962 . On July 1, 1962, he switched to the newly founded ZDF, where on April 1, 1964, he took over the management of the main sports department. In addition, he twice moderated the current sports studio . From 1973 to 1981 he was sports rights officer for the Mainz broadcaster.

1981 Willi Krämer retired from active service for ZDF. He last lived in the Ursel-Distelhut-Haus senior center in Mainz-Mombach and died in 2015 at the age of 88.
