William Beckford of Somerley

William Beckford von Somerley (* 1744 in Jamaica , † February 5, 1799 in London ) was a Jamaican plantation owner and author.

He was an illegitimate son of Richard Beckford and so belonged to the Beckford family, which was very influential in Jamaica. His possessions included the Roaring River Estate sugar cane plantation in Westmoreland Parish in western Jamaica.
