William Bonemer Júnior , known under William Bonner (born November 16, 1963 in Ribeirão Preto ) is a Brazilian news anchor, publicist and journalist. He is the editor-in-chief and anchorman of Jornal Nacional , the most popular news program in Brazil on TV Globo .

Career

After studying and graduating in mass communication with a focus on advertising and public relations at the Escola de Comunicações e Artes of the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP), Bonner began his professional career in 1983 in advertising.

From 1985 he worked for Rede Bandeirantes as an announcer and presenter in São Paulo . In June 1986 he moved to the rival channel Rede Globo , also in São Paulo, as editor and presenter of the local television news program SPTV. In 1988 he also directed the Sunday evening program Fantástico .

The following year he moved to Rio de Janeiro and presented the late night news program Jornal da Globo between 1989 and 1992 with his wife Fátima Bernardes . The couple have triplets , Laura, Beatriz and Vinícius.

In 1996, William Bonner took over the Jornal Nacional , which is broadcast from Monday to Saturday at around 8:30 p.m.
