The University of São Paulo ( Portuguese Universidade de São Paulo ; USP) is one of the largest universities in Brazil and Latin America . The university facilities are spread over seven locations in the state of São Paulo : two in the city of São Paulo itself, the others in the cities of Bauru , Lorena , Piracicaba , Pirassununga , Ribeirão Preto and São Carlos . The university's motto is: "Scientia Vinces".

University profile

The USP is active in the areas of teaching, research and university development in all areas of knowledge. In rankings such as the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2012, the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) in 2012, the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2012 ( University Ranking of World Universities 2012) and The Times Higher Education Supplement 2011 to 2012, the University of São Paulo recognized as the best academic university in Ibero America . Law Faculty

After the declaration of independence in 1822, the establishment of a legal training center was demanded in Brazil. Other faculties

The Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas da Universidade de São Paulo (FFLCH) currently offers five bachelor's programs, history, geography, social sciences, philosophy and language / literature (letras).
