Milton Santos

Milton Santos (born May 3, 1926 in Brotas de Macaúbas , † June 24, 2001 in São Paulo ) was a Brazilian geographer .

In 1958 he received his doctorate from the University of Strasbourg with the dissertation "The center of the city of Salvador: an urban geographic study".

The divided space ( Léspace partagé ; O espaço dividido ) is considered to be his most important work .
