The Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná , in short: PUCPR (German Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná ) is a university under papal law in the Brazilian state of Paraná .
history
The college was founded on March 14, 1959 by the then Archbishop of Curitiba, Manuel da Silveira d'Elboux , and recognized by the state on May 17, 1960 by decree 48.232. On August 6, 1965, it was recognized as a university under papal law by Pope Paul VI. PUCPR has been run by Marists since 1973 .
