The Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) is one of the four state universities in the state of Rio de Janeiro , Brazil . The university campus is in Niterói , on the southeast side of Guanabara Bay . There are also 12 offices in other cities in the state.
The university was founded on December 18, 1960 as Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro through the amalgamation of various universities in the state. The Faculty of Law was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1912 as the Faculdade de Direito Teixeira de Freitas .
The UFF organizes a university course for cinematography, which the Brazilian filmmaker Nelson Pereira dos Santos founded, in which he also taught.
