Guido Mantega
Guido Mantega (born April 7, 1949 in Genoa , Italy ) is an Italian- Brazilian politician and economist . He was Minister of Finance and Minister of Planning, Budgeting and Administration of President Lula's government. He was again finance minister in the first parliamentary term of the Dilma Rousseff government . His successor as finance minister was Joaquim Levy .
Life
Mantega studied economics at the University of São Paulo . After his studies, he got a job as a university lecturer at various universities in São Paulo . He is a member of the Brazilian party Partido dos Trabalhadores . From March 27, 2006 to January 1, 2015 he was Minister of Finance in Brazil in the government cabinets of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff .
