successes
At the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis , he took part in three fencing competitions. In foil fencing , he retired without a win in the first round. With the saber, however, he achieved two victories. Since he had landed two hits more in the course of the competition than Albertson Van Zo Post , who also won two skirmishes, he finished the competition in front of Van Zo Post and behind Manuel Díaz , who was first with three wins, in second place. In the only 1904 held competition in stick fencing Grebe was one of three participants and was third and last.
