William Henry Rolph

William Henry Rolph (born August 26, 1847 in Berlin ; † August 1, 1883 there ) was a German entomologist . Rolph taught at the University of Leipzig from the winter semester of 1876 to the winter semester of 1879 .

His work Biological Problems was published in 1882 , an expanded edition was published posthumously. Nietzsche's reading of the text influenced his conception of the “will to power”, as Rudolf Steiner wrote in his Nietzsche obituary in Vorwärts . There is evidence of a copy in Nietzsche's library that has been underlined several times.
