William J. Murphy (politician, 1928)

William J. Murphy (born May 17, 1928 ) is an Irish politician ( Irish Labor Party ).

Murphy was elected to the 13th Dáil Éireann on June 15, 1949 in the Cork West constituency as part of a by-election to fill the vacant seat of his late party colleague Timothy J. Murphy . To this day, he is the youngest person ever to be elected to the Dáil. In the 1951 elections for the 14th Dáil Éireann, Murphy no longer stood.
