The Williams International FJ33 is a family of twin-shaft turbofan engines that have been developed for use in very light jet-propelled aircraft. Experiences that Williams made in the development of the FJ44 served as the basis for this.

Technical specifications

The engine consists of a single-stage fan with booster stage (s), which is driven by a two-stage low-pressure turbine . Furthermore, a centrifugal high-pressure compressor , which is driven by a single-stage high-pressure turbine, and an annular combustion chamber .

The FJ33 has a dry weight of less than 135 kg, a diameter of 53.47 cm (fan 44 cm), an overall length of 1.22 m (otherwise 0.978 m), a bypass ratio of 3.28 (FJ33-1) - 3.4 (FJ33-4-A11) and produces between 4.45 and 8.45 kN of thrust. Its specific fuel consumption at a thrust (SLS, ISA) of 5.34 kN is about 0.486 lb / (hp · h).

There are the following versions:

  • FJ33-1: 5.34 kN (1,200 lb)
  • FJ33-2: 5.78 kN (1,300 lb)
  • FJ33-3: 6.23 kN (1,400 lb)
  • FJ33-4-A11: 4.89 kN (1,100 lb)
  • FJ33-4: 6.67 kN (1,500 lb)
  • FJ33-4-17M: 7.56 kN (1,700 lb)
  • FJ33-4-18M: 8.01 kN (1,800 lb)
  • FJ33-4-19M: 8.45 kN (1,900 lb)
