The Cirrus SF50 Vision is a Very Light Jet from the US aircraft manufacturer Cirrus Design Corporation .
history
The aircraft is the first Cirrus aircraft to be powered by a turbofan . It was announced by Cirrus under the name The Jet in December 2006 and had its maiden flight on July 3, 2008 from Duluth International Airport in Minnesota . The machine has now been renamed SF50.
In October 2016, the American Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted approval. The EASA -approved followed 2017th
In 2018, Cirrus was awarded the Collier Trophy 2017 for developing the Vision Jet until it was ready for the market .
Technical specifications
The aircraft is a single-engine monoplane made of composite material with a turbofan engine in the tail and space for two pilots and five passengers. It has a V-shaped tail unit and is equipped with a glass cockpit . For safety, it is equipped with a total rescue system called the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) .
