The Spectrum Aeronautical LLC is an American manufacturer of very light jets , based in Carlsbad in the US state of California on Airport McClellan-Palomar ( IATA : CLD, ICAO : KCRQ, FAA LID: CRQ).
history
Certification of the aircraft was scheduled for 2008. After the crash of a prototype of the Spectrum S-33 in 2006, no Spectrum Aeronautical aircraft has flown until further notice.
Since 2005, the company has had a branch in Luxembourg (City) , the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, called Spectrum Aeronautical, under the management of Stefano Sturlese , which is responsible for marketing the products in Europe, the Middle East and Africa . The aircraft are manufactured at Rocky Mountain Composites (RMC) in Spanish Fork in the US state of Utah .
Spectrum built a 7,900 m² hangar in Spanish Fork in 2007. The Maben-Forrest Building is named after the test pilots Glenn Maben and Nathan Forrest, who died in the crash of the prototype.
Products
The aircraft developed by Spectrum Aeronautical use a composite material specially developed by Spectrum Aeronautical called fibeX . This should make it possible to save around 40% in weight compared to aluminum materials. The first flight of the Spectrum S-40 is specified for the end of 2010.
