Wincare is a Swiss insurance company specializing in health insurance . Your core business is basic insurance according to the Health Insurance Act as well as supplementary insurance. The company consists of two companies. The Wincare Versicherungen AG through compulsory health insurance, while the Wincare supplementary AG offers the additional insurance. In total, Wincare has more than 278,000 policyholders and in 2008 generated premium income of 928.9 million Swiss francs, of which 700.6 million francs in basic insurance.
Wincare originally formed the health insurance business in Switzerland of the former Winterthur Group , founded in 1875 . In March 2006, the Winterthur Group sold the two Wincare companies with a total of 370 employees as well as the individual health and individual accident insurance business to Sanitas Krankenversicherung .
