Wind energy decree
A wind power remission is defined by the German Federal States verfasserter adoption , in which the conditions for the use of wind energy is controlled in each state. In particular, the areas of planning and nature conservation law are regulated by the respective decree. It thus represents a guideline for the regional use of wind energy. One aim of a wind energy decree is, among other things, an expansion of wind energy use that is as environmentally and socially acceptable as possible.
Regulations by country
- Baden-Württemberg
- In 2011, the green state government under Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann introduced a new wind energy decree. This led to a strong expansion of wind power. In Baden-Württemberg, the construction of wind turbines in forest areas is permitted.
- Bavaria
- In Bavaria, the construction of wind turbines in forest areas is permitted.
- Berlin
- The construction of wind turbines in forest areas is prohibited in Berlin.
- Brandenburg
- In Brandenburg, the construction of wind turbines in forest areas is permitted.
- Bremen

- Hamburg
- The construction of wind turbines in forest areas is prohibited in Hamburg.
- Hesse
- In Hesse, the construction of wind turbines in forest areas is permitted.
- Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

- Lower Saxony
- The current wind energy decree of the state of Lower Saxony is dated February 24, 2016. It stipulates that no wind energy plants may be installed in the forest or in nature reserves.
- North Rhine-Westphalia
- The current edition of the North Rhine-Westphalian wind energy decree ( decree for the planning and approval of wind turbines and instructions for the purpose and application (wind energy decree)) dates from November 4, 2015. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the construction of wind turbines in forest areas is permitted. This was made possible for the first time by a new wind energy decree in 2011 and the forest guide 2012 by the then red-green state government.
