Windfelner Bridge

The Windfelner Bridge is a railway bridge in Solingen that crosses the B 229 and is part of the Wuppertal-Oberbarmen-Solingen railway line .

Sometimes it is also referred to as the Schaberger Bridge , as it is not far from the Solingen district of Schaberg . It is 0.85 km from the Müngsten Bridge and 0.75 km from the Solingen-Schaberg train station, which is just before the Müngsten Bridge.

In this difficult terrain ( Solingen Hbf is 117 meters high, Remscheid Hbf 303 meters), the railway line had to be artificially stretched by a curved line, which added another important structure with the Windfelner Bridge. The line was initially single-track, from 1907 the second track was also passable. The structure itself is 155 meters long and up to 40 meters high; its continuous steel girder is supported on the way by two brick pillars.
