The Bederkesa windmill in Bad Bederkesa , Beerster Mühlenweg 13, is a Lower Saxony monument and is included in the list of architectural monuments in Geestland .

history

The Bederkesa windmill from 1881 is a Dutch windmill with an octagonal base on a 31 m high ridge above the town. The earth and gallery Dutchman with a compass rose automatically positions the 20-ton mill hood with the wings in the wind. The mill has three accessible floors. It is 16.50 m high to the ridge, 20 m to the wind rose edge and 27 m to the wing tip. The 11.5 m long wings are provided with lattice bars for sails and were previously equipped with blinds.

Two old, still functional grinding stages are stored on the grinding floor ; one is powered by wind power, the other electrically. The electric sack elevator transports sacks to the elevator floor.

The mill is station 17 on the Lower Saxony Mill Road - region between the North Sea, Elbe and Weser.
