Winfried Pickart

Winfried Pickart (born May 30, 1950 in Ronneburg / Thuringia ) is a former German politician ( CDU ).

From January 15, 1990 to April 1990, he was Deputy Minister for International Cooperation in the Ministry of Nature Conservation, Environmental Protection and Water Management. In this function, by resolution of the Council of Ministers with effect from January 25, 1990, he was appointed Commissioner of the Government of the German Democratic Republic for the agreement between the Government of the GDR and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the further development of relations in the field of environmental protection . Together with Federal Minister Klaus Töpfer , he sealed the German-German Environment Commission and secured the funding of important environmental projects in industrial conurbations. On May 2, 1990, Pickart was appointed State Secretary in the De Maiziere government's Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Energy and Nuclear Safety.

This activity ended with the reunification of Germany .

Pickart was an official member of the GDR's negotiating delegation on the treaty for establishing unity in Germany - the unification treaty .

Life

After a successful apprenticeship as a skilled worker for hydraulic engineering from 1968 to 1971, he studied at the engineering school for water management in Magdeburg. He completed his studies in political science and law in 1983 with a diploma.
