The angle measure , also known as an angle hook , is a heraldic symbol of a coat of arms that can be formed in various ways. So it is possible to combine a shortened bar with a shortened side to form a figure at right angles in the coat of arms and to represent it in the same color ( tincture ). It is also possible to make a shortened shield head with a shortened pole with the same color into a figure. This is also possible with a shield base and pole. In the descriptionneeds to be mentioned the direction of the angle. The square is popular as a coat of arms figure for a talking coat of arms . It can also be viewed as a lowered corner rafter.

The angle measure is an attribute of the apostle Thomas .

The square hovers in the sign as a square cross. It resembles an Antonius cross with a missing cross arm. Despite the similarity, it should not be described as a cross .

To use this name for the coat of arms picture wall hook is unheraldic.
