Wir Frauen ( own spelling WIR FRAUEN ) is a quarterly German-language feminist magazine published by WIR FRAUEN - Association for the Promotion of Women’s Publicity eV . The responsible editors are currently Gabriele Bischoff, Melanie Stitz and Mechthild Vahsen. Honorary editors include the authors Florence Hervé , founder of Wir Frauen , and Mithu Sanyal .

From the DFI-Rundbrief (the journal of the Democratic Women's Initiative ), which has been called Wir Frauen since 1980 , the journal of the same name was created in 1982, initially with six issues a year, on topics such as: equal pay, professional bans, pacifism , §218 , lesbians , foreign women in Germany, women in other countries and cultures, etc. Wir Frauen has been published four times a year since the beginning of the 1990s and continues to cover a very broad spectrum of topics. In 1992 the subtitle “The Feminist Journal” was added. Between 1992 and 2007, We Women participated in the international campaign for the release of the Kurdish ex-MP Leyla Zane . Wir Frauen has been online since 2007 and lectures on topics such as New Feminism are held regularly .
In 2010 the campaign “My feminist truth needs its place” started, in which people were asked to express their own opinion on feminism.
