The Lower Austria Economic Center is a building complex in Sankt Pölten and acts as a central service and information point for business people throughout Lower Austria . It is located on the southern edge of the Landhausviertel .
architecture
This is the first large passive house office complex in Austria and has different facade materials - stone, metal, glass and wood. The complex is designed as a passive house, i.e. without a conventional heating system. (Heating energy requirement less than 15 kWh / m² / year) The total of four buildings in passive house construction are connected by glass corridors and form the southern end of the government district. The futuristic “sloping” architecture, consisting of four houses, has a variety of different materials, shapes and functions. The architects DI Erich Millbacher and Franz Gschwantner wanted to create a visual and symbolic relationship with the four quarters of Lower Austria, the Weinviertel , Mostviertel , Waldviertel and the industrial district and thus also signaled the diversity of the economy in Lower Austria.

In the economic center, space was created for important innovative service areas of the Lower Austrian economy and attempts were also made to set up a central contact point for traders. Lower Austria's business agency , the start-up agency RIZ , the 144 Notruf Niederösterreich , Niederösterreich-Werbung, Niederösterreichische Glasfaserinf Infrastruktur mbH (nöGIG) and tecnet capital , the state's technology financing company , are housed here.
