Wiser's whiskey is a Canadian whiskey that is made in Ontario .

history

Wiser's whiskey was originally made by Wiser's distillery. This was founded in Prescott in 1857 . The company was the third largest distillery in Canada and, in addition to its home market, also sold its products in the USA, China and the Philippines. In 1911 there were 100 employees in production. When the founder and CEO JP Wiser passed away unexpectedly, the company got into turmoil and was sold to another Canadian distillery. Corby Distilleries took over Wiser's and moved production to Belleville . Wiser's whiskey has been produced by the Hiram Walker & Sons distillery in Windsor since 1980 .
