Knowledge is a district and a district of the municipality of Weeze in the Kleve district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1928, Wissen was an independent municipality in what was then the Geldern district .
geography
Kalbeck is an agricultural scattered settlement in the south of the municipal area of Weeze. The district extends southeast of the center of Weeze and includes the eponymous castle Wissen as well as the farming communities Hüdderath, Keylaer, Laar and Wissen. The former municipality of Wissen had an area of 15.95 km².
history
The first documented mention of the Wissen castle comes from the year 1372. The castle became the seat of a small independent lordship that included several farmers . Since the 19th century, Wissen formed a rural community in the mayor's office of Weeze in the Geldern district in the Düsseldorf administrative district . Knowledge was incorporated into Weeze on October 1, 1928.
