The Scientific Publications of the German Orient Society (WVDOG) is a series of publications on archaeological research projects that have been published on behalf of or with the participation of the German Orient Society since 1900 . The latter financed numerous large German research projects at the beginning of the 20th century, so the WVDOG became the main publication organ for the archaeological excavations in Assur , Babylon , Habuba Kabira , Ḫattuša , Mumbaqat and Tell el-Amarna . From 1900 to 1941 61 monographs were published, then the series was interrupted and only resumed in 1957.
