from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Witiko von Příběnice (also Witiko III. Von Rosenberg ; Witiko von Pribenitz ; Czech Vítek z Rožmberka ; Vítek z Příběnic ; † before 1259) was a Bohemian nobleman. He came from the Witigon family branch of the Rosenbergs .

Life

Witiko von Příběnice is documented for the years 1243–1255. His parents were Witiko von Prčice and Blankenberg , founders of the Rosenberg family, and Kunigunde von Schönhering . Witikos brother Wok von Rosenberg was the first to use the predicate "von Rosenberg", which was derived from Rosenberg Castle .

Witiko von Příběnice was first mentioned in 1243. Since he used the nickname "from Příběnice", it is assumed that the Příběnice castle south of Tábor was built by him. After his death, the Příběnice Castle passed to Witikos brother Wok von Rosenberg.

It is not known where he died and also not whether his body was transferred to the family crypt of the Hohenfurt monastery that his brother Wok had built .
