Vyacheslav Viktorovich Tschanow ( Russian Вячеслав Викторович Чанов ; born October 23, 1951 in Moscow , RSFSR , USSR ) is a former Soviet-Russian football goalkeeper and current goalkeeping coach.
Vyacheslav Tschanow began his career as a goalkeeper in the youth teams of Shakhtar Donetsk . His father Wiktor was a regular goalkeeper in Shakhtar's first team and his younger brother Wiktor should also be an outstanding goalkeeper. From the 1969 season he played for Shakhtar's first team, but without becoming a regular. At the beginning of the 1979 season, Tschanow moved to Torpedo Moscow . With this team he had his most successful time, he was chosen goalkeeper and in 1981 Soviet goalkeeper of the year. In 1982 Tschanow stood with torpedo in the finals of the Soviet Cup competition , but the final against Dynamo Kiev was lost 0-1. After 177 competitive games for Torpedo Moscow, he then moved to Neftçi Baku in 1985 and to CSKA Moscow in 1987 .
Tschanow played five selection games for the Soviet Olympic team in 1983. He took part in the 1982 World Cup in Spain , but without being used in this tournament. His only international match for the Soviet national team , he played on March 28, 1984 in Hanover against the German national team .
From 1988 Tschanow was stationed as a member of the Soviet Army in the GDR and played in the Soviet Army Sports Club of the Soviet Armed Forces group in Germany . In 1990 he moved to FSV Optik Rathenow and played for this club until 1993. Tschanow has been a goalkeeping coach for CSKA Moscow since 1995
