Vladimir Ivanovich Morozov
Vladimir Ivanovich Morozov ( Russian Владимир Иванович Морозов ; born July 19, 1952 in Moscow Oblast ) is a former Soviet canoeist who became Olympic champion in 1976.
The Soviet four-person kayak with Sergei Tschuchrai , Alexander Degtjarjow , Jurij Filatow and Vladimir Morozov won the gold medal at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal on the Olympic 1000-meter route in front of the boats from Spain and the GDR.
At the 1977 World Championships in Sofia, Oleksander Schaparenko , Vladimir Morozov, Sergej Nikolsky and Alexander Avdejew won the 10,000-meter title ahead of the Hungarians and the Poles. On the 1000 meter course, the Poles won ahead of the Soviet four. A year later, the four canoeists repeated their success on the 10,000-meter course at the World Championships in Belgrade .
