Vladimir Petrovich Mesenzew ( Russian Владимир Петрович Мезенцев ; born December 22, 1781 in Warsaw , † January 2, 1833 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian general of the Napoleonic Wars .

Mesentsev took part in the battles of 1805 , the Russian-Swedish War (1808/09) and the Russian campaign in 1812 , in which he led the Perm infantry regiment in the Wittgenstein corps .

During the war of 1812 he continued to command the Perm Musketeer Regiment, which was assigned to the 1st Western Army as part of the 15th Infantry Division. In the battle of Golowschtitza on July 20 / August 1, 1812, he was seriously injured by a bullet in the head and did not return to the army until a year later. He was promoted to major general and was appointed commander of the 5th Infantry Division during the Wars of Liberation . With his troops he took part in the Battle of Leipzig in 1813 and in the fighting at Bar-sur-Aube , Fère-Champenoise and Romainville in 1814. He was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir 2nd class on March 18, 1814.

After the war, he took over command of the 2nd Brigade of the 5th Infantry Division and on November 14, 1817 he was reappointed commander of the 5th Infantry Division.

In 1818 he married Countess Vera Nikolajewna Zubowa (1800–1863), daughter of NA Zubow, a granddaughter of Generalissimo AW Suvorov . The marriage resulted in four daughters and two sons. In 1826 he retired with his family in St. Petersburg.
