Vladimir Vladimirovich Garin
Vladimir Vladimirovich Garin ( Russian Владимир Владимирович Гарин ; born January 26, 1987 in Leningrad , † June 25, 2003 in Sosnowo, Leningrad Oblast ) was a Russian actor .
Garin was best known in 2003 for the role of Andrei in the award-winning film The Return - The Return of Andrei Svyagintsev .
Garin drowned shortly after filming was finished in Lake Ossinovetskoye near Saint Petersburg , not far from where the film was set. He was encouraged to jump from a tower into the lake, just as his film brother (played by Ivan Dobronrawov ) had done in the opening scene of the film. Garin jumped, probably having a cramp in the cold current. Divers found his body three days later. It was only for the shooting that Garin had lost his fear of the water by deciding to jump into the lake himself and not be doubled.
