Roonstrasse residential group

The Roonstrasse residential group in Bremen , Ostliche Vorstadt district, Fesenfeld district , Roonstrasse 1 and 3, was built in 1894 according to plans by building contractor Bernhard Mende. This small group of buildings has been a listed building in Bremen since 1977 .

The short Roonstrasse leads in an east-west direction from Graf-Moltke- Strasse to Herderstrasse , parallel to the railway tracks and to Bismarckstrasse . It was created in 1890 and named after the Prussian General Field Marshal and Minister Albrecht von Roon (1803–1879).

history

The plastered three-storey houses were built between 1892 and 1894 in the period of historicism in the neo-renaissance style for an upper class.

Houses No. 1 on the corner of Herderstraße and 3 belong to the ensemble.

The other two- to four-storey houses up to No. 87 are not under monument protection, whereas the northern houses from No. 11 to 79 also date from the turn of the century.

Currently (2018) the buildings are largely used as residential buildings.
