description

The residential courtyard built by Curt Herfurth in 1927 is an example of expressionist architecture using the "expressionistically influenced form vocabulary of the head building of the railroad settlement on Hansastraße ". The houses No. 24-26 on Deubener Straße emerge like a risk from the row of houses. Your stairwells have a prismatic basic shape and are drawn up to the roof zone. Between the two dominant stairwells, a shop zone was inserted at ground floor level, which was clad with hard-fired clinker bricks. Noteworthy are the stairwell windows, which "are cut out of the top of the structure and have a 45 degree pattern that corresponds to the [rung] in the triangular dormers."
