Prester residential tower

The residential tower Prester is a listed historic residential tower in the Magdeburg district of Prester .

The residential tower, located at Alt Prester 104 on the southern edge of Presters, in the immediate vicinity of the dike to the Elbe , was built in the early 16th century. An inscription on a coat of arms on the tower names the year 1520. The tower originally belonged to the patrician family Rode .

The tower is only two-story and built from rubble stones on a square floor plan. The vaulted ground floor is located above a low cellar. The floor above, which is intended for residential purposes, has several living rooms and is only accessible via an external staircase. The stairs could be pulled up earlier in case of danger. The roof is designed as a hipped roof .
