Wolf-Dietger Machel

Wolf-Dietger Machel (* 1953 in Potsdam ) is a German railway historian and publicist .

Wolf-Dietger Machel learned the trade of industrial and transport railroader and worked for a short time at the Deutsche Reichsbahn . He then completed a degree, which he completed in 1980 as a railway operations engineer. Then he turned full-time to the railway journalism. From 1983 to 1990 he was editor-in-chief of the magazine Der Modelleisenbahner . As an author and editor, he primarily publishes on the history of the German secondary , small and narrow-gauge railways . He is the chairman of the Verkehrsgeschichtliche Blätter e. V. , who publishes the magazine of the same name.
