Wolf-Dietrich Walker

Wolf-Dietrich Walker (born March 6, 1955 in Wuppertal ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen .

Life and work

Walker was born in Wuppertal in 1955. In 1973/74 he did his basic military service and in 1974 began studying law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . In 1979 he passed the first state examination in law. He passed his second state examination in law in 1982. In 1984 he received his doctorate from the Westphalian Wilhelms University on the subject of "The implementation of employer succession with a supposed heir". There he completed his habilitation in 1992 on the subject of “Temporary legal protection in civil and labor court proceedings”.

Since 1992 he has been a university professor at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. There he was the dean of the law faculty from 1996 to 1997 .

The textbooks founded by Hans Brox and continued by Walker on the general part of the BGB , general and special law of obligations , inheritance law and enforcement law are each among the most successful and widely circulated legal textbooks.
