Wolfgang H. Güttel

Wolfgang H. Güttel (born June 17, 1968 in Vienna , Austria ) is an Austrian economist and professor at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz . He is the director of the Institute for Human Resource and Change Management as well as Dean and Co-Managing Director of the LIMAK Austrian Business School.

Life

Wolfgang H. Güttel studied social and economic sciences with a focus on management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (graduation: 1995) and political science with a combination of subjects from sociology, economics and modern history with a focus on political competition strategies at the University of Vienna (graduation: 1997). He then worked as a management consultant at Daimler-Benz AG in Stuttgart (Germany), at Diebold Management Consulting in Vienna (Austria) and as an independent consultant in a network of consultants (1997–2002). Güttel received his doctorate in 2002 from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (focus: management) and started there as a university assistant, where he completed his habilitation in business administration in 2008 . Between 2007 and 2009 Güttel was a professor at the University of Kassel (Germany), at the University of Hamburg (Germany) and a research fellow at the Universities of Padua (Italy) and Liverpool (Great Britain). Since 2009 he has been a professor at the JKU Linz (Austria) and director of the Institute of Human Resource and Change Management. In 2011, as Dean, he took over the overall scientific management and co-management of the LIMAK Austrian Business School.
