Wolfgang Kühnel (mathematician)
Wolfgang Kühnel (* 1950 ) is a German mathematician who deals with differential geometry and combinatorial topology .
Kühnel received his doctorate in 1976 under Bernd Wegner at the TU Berlin (on the total curvature of submanifolds in Euclidean spaces) and is a professor at the University of Stuttgart.
He is the author of over 80 scientific publications and the author of a standard textbook on differential geometry.
His research area includes combinatorial manifolds as well as Weingarten surfaces and smooth submanifolds of Euclidean space .
